The Pickaway County Dog Shelter is a county owned and operated dog shelter as prescribed by Chapter 955 of the Ohio Revised Code. It is a full-service shelter which holds stray dogs for a required period of time before they are placed up for adoption.
The shelter has a staff of four employees:
Preston Schumacher, Chief Dog Warden
Wyatt Coleman, Deputy Dog Warden
Lily Rhodes, Deputy Dog Warden
Emily Morgan, Deputy Dog Warden
The Pickaway County Dog Warden’s Office operates as prescribed by Chapter 955 of the Ohio Revised Code. The Warden’s Office services the entire county including the cities of Circleville, Williamsport, New Holland, Orient, Ashville, South Bloomfield, Tarlton and Adelphia.
The Warden’s Office also operates the county-owned Wright-Poling dog shelter that holds stray dogs for a required period of time before they are placed up for adoption.
Hours of operation:
Monday and Wednesday- Saturday 11 AM - 4 PM
Appointments are required to visit dogs that are available for adoption
Closed Sunday and Tuesday
Closed on all Holidays
